Metz

The administrative capital of the Lorraine region, which boasts a long history dating back from the Roman times. Metz may not be among the most obvious tourist destinations, but it is worth a visit, for its history, art, architecture, especially as the Centre Pompidou-Metz opened recently. Metz can be reached within 90 minutes from Paris Est on direct TGV trains.
