Britons are perhaps not known for their positive attitudes towards life and events, and this articles sums it up nicely. Fearing that London Games will be a damp squib after Beijing, some Britons are taking pleasure in Vancouver's discomfort and misfortune.
The last paragraph of this article reads:

This is not a grown-up attitude, really, and one would have expected better from The Times.
Wait until it rains non-stop during the London Games, and a massive break-down in the London Underground system.
