Japan

Japan, Japanese people, culture and society remain somewhat mysterious for many people. I'm Japanese, but having lived abroad for a long time, sometimes I can't explain why certain things happen, or why people do certain things. But even then, there are still many things I can explain, or seem to make sense to me, which baffle others. Articles in this section are my attempt to give anglophone readers a glimpse of Japanese society, politics and culture.

I have no training in anthropology, politics, sociology, ethnography, (comparative) theology etc, and not all Japanese people do, think or react in the same way, so whatever I write remains my personal views, observations and impressions. I do not claim to explain everything, but hopefully I can make Japan that little eaiser to understand, a little less mysterious for you.

If you have any questions about Japan, please do not hesitate to ask them using the comment form below. I can't promise to answer them, but I will make an attempt.
